...This is part 2 of this article on how to make your own Yoga routine for yourself in the comforts of your own home.

Admittedly, in as much as I am aware that most people do try to use Yoga for spiritual benefits, the truth is we still would want to see its benefits for the body such as toning, strengthening and training.

Abdominal Region: The Forward Bending Pose, the Bow Pose, the Peacock Pose, the spinal twist and the Triangle Pose.
The Arms: Definitely the Peacock Pose! the Wheel Pose, the Crow Pose, the Side plank Pose and the 4-limb Staff Pose.
The Thighs: The Bow Pose, The Shoulder-stand, the Hero Pose, the triangle and wheel poses.
Love Handles: The spinal twist, the triangle pose, (with practice) the Side Crow Poses, (for ease) The Side plank pose.

Teaching Hatha Yoga: My Yoga Students Do Not Want to Meditate
...Recently, I received an Email from a colleague about local Yoga students and their desire to skip meditation. It seems some Hatha Yoga students find it appropriate to get up and leave before meditation starts. In the area, where he is located, in the western United States, no Yoga studios have meditation as part of the curriculum.
Apparently, there is a lack of interest, and this would leave most Yoga teachers discouraged. However, these same Yoga students love Asana practice. They state that meditation is boring, and they could be doing something useful instead.
What can Yoga instructors do, to explain the mental benefits of meditation? At this point, mentioning spiritual benefits would fall on deaf ears. When Yoga students cannot a...more

4. What to Bring
You will not need to bring much except yourself and some comfortable, breathable clothing on your first day. Know the basic yoga equipment you will encounter. Most studios have basic yoga equipments and these can be usually rented.
5. What to Expect
In a yoga class, the students put their mats facing the front of the room (often identifiable by a small altar or by the teacher's mat) in a loose grid. It is recommended not to line up your mat exactly with the one next to it as you and your neighbor will need some space in certain poses. The students often sit in a cross-legged position waiting for class to begin or do some gentle stretching.
The teacher may begin the class by leading the class in chanting om three times. Depending on the teacher, there may be a breathing exercise or short meditation when the class commences.
It is followed by warm-up poses, then more vigorous poses, then stretches and final relaxation. At any time, return to Child's Pose if you need some rest.
Sometimes, the instructor will go around to each student during final relaxation and give them a little massage. Most teachers conclude class with another round of oms.
